ANÁLISE SOCIAL E JURÍDICA DO FEMINICÍDIO NO BRASIL

Abstract

Every minute a woman suffers some kind of gender violence in Brazil, it can be sexual harassment in the workplace, rape, any kind of domestic violence, mutilation, or a brutal murder. The general objective of this work is to analyze feminicide socially and legally in Brazil. From a methodological perspective, we start from bibliographic, documentary and exploratory research that aims to produce knowledge for future investigations and for the practical application of the precepts discussed. In to make this work possible, it was divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, we present the problem of violence against women in Brazil, discussing capitalism as a patriarchal and racist system; and in this sense, we place Brazil as a misogynistic and sexist society that contains extremely alarming numbers of gender violence. In the second chapter, we start from the analysis of legal protection against gender violence in Brazil, discussing violence against women in the Inter-American human rights system and specific legislation that combats this type of violence in Brazil. We also discuss the history and motivations for the change brought about the issue of feminicide. In the third chapter, we analyzed the social and legal importance of the institutional fight against feminicide in Brazil, discussing the circumstances that conflict female reasons, the social importance of the feminicio law and finally, feminicide as a feminist social and legal victory.
