ASSISTÊNCIA DO ENFERMEIRO FRENTE À VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA O IDOSO:UMA REVISÃO NARRATIVA

Abstract

Objective: To elucidate the role of nurses in the face of violence against the elderly. Methodology: This is a narrative review of the literature, with the theme of nursing care in the face of violence against the elderly. A review was carried out in the electronic databases BVS, SciELO and Google Scholar Results: Violence against the elderly deserves special attention due to the physical and psychological trauma that can be developed by this age group, the elderly described that nursing care play a fundamental role in helping to identify and denounce cases of violence against the elderly, with substantial health education in the community, which can be better visualized in the excerpts that follow. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the nursing professional must be increasingly trained to provide better care in cases of violence against the elderly, and that their role in identifying and combating this practice is essential.
