EFETIVIDADE DO TRATAMENTO DE FILTRO AZUL EM ÓCULOS CONVENCIONAIS CONTRA À LUZ DO FOTOPOLIMERIZADOR ODONTOLÓGICO

Abstract

Due to ophthalmological injuries suffered by dental surgeons caused by the blue light of the dental curing light, there has been the need to see for prevention against it. A literature review has been carried out to verify whether conventional glasses used to prevent ametropia, when a blue filter is used in their lenses, would have the same results when compared to the orange, commonly used by the professionals nowadays. The databases used were PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar, Cora Coralina Digital Library -FACMAIS, and scientific journals in the field of dentistry. Keywords: “Ophthalmological protection”, “Dental surgeon”, “Blue light”, “curing light” and “biosecurity”. After the integrative review of the literature, 18 works relevant to the subject were selected, respecting the criteria of inclusion and exclusion, initially determined. After reading the selected works, a table was prepared guiding the discussion of this work. From now on, with selected references and literature reviews, it was possible to conclude that this scientific discussion highlights the need for an in-depth assessment of the effectiveness of the conventional blue filter glasses in dental practice during photopolymerization.
