Abstract:
Breast cancer in pregnancy is considered a public health problem, so nurses and other health professionals should act to prevent this disease. Objective: To describe the prevention and treatment measures of breast cancer in pregnancy and how nursing care should be performed in this context. Method: This is an integrative literature review. Inclusion criteria for this study were research involving human beings, aged over 18 years, published in Portuguese between 2009 and 2018 and available in full. Data collection was performed from August to October 2019. Result: According to the search performed, ten articles that comprised the final sample of this study were identified. The articles selected for the study showed the unpreparedness of nursing professionals regarding the assistance to be provided to pregnant women. Conclusion: There was absence of studies on the subject. It was possible to verify the lack of knowledge of professionals in dealing with breast cancer in pregnancy, especially due to the difficult diagnosis of the disease during pregnancy.
