Abstract:
The purpose of this scientific article is to identify the convergences and divergences of
marriage and stable unions, as well as to assess whether they have the same legal
protection, and finally to analyze the causes why these two institutions have been
dissipating. Over the years, perspectives on certain subjects change and, given this, it
is necessary for the law to follow these changes and present solutions suited to the
current needs of each person. The family is the basis of society, it also goes through
changes and its rights must be protected according to the changes. The methodology
used is bibliographic and documentary research that comes from the field of law to
better understand the topic addressed.
