Abstract:
This study analyzed the psychological and social impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic
on nurses through an integrative review of the literature published between 2019 and
2024. The main factors contributing to emotional distress included work overload,
lack of institutional support, and constant risk of exposure, resulting in high levels of
anxiety and depression. Resilience strategies, such as social support and wellness
programs, effectively mitigated these impacts. The study concludes that sustainable
mental health policies and structural changes within healthcare institutions are
essential to ensure nurses’ well-being in the post-pandemic context.
