Abstract:
This study aims to present the real situation faced by the transgender people in the
job market as well as analyze the jurisprudence aimed at defending the rights of
these people. Specific objectives are: to address historical points about sexual
diversity in society; to unravel beliefs and myths by informing; to present the
importance of the appearance of movements in defense of the rights of homosexuals
and transgender; to analyze anti-discriminatory laws. It is taken into account that the
information and study about the human sexual diversity, as well as its relation with
society and the legal dispositions on such issue, may decrease the indices of
prejudiced acts. Thus, it is expected to contribute to the awareness of the rights that
these individuals can enjoy, in view of the fight for their right to a dignified life. It is
concluded that there have been great achievements in transgender labor rights, but
there is still much to fight in order to achieve their so much-dreamed-of equality and
fraternity.
