Abstract:
Physical Education is an area rich in knowledge that provides the experience and the
possibility of analyzing gender issues, requiring, however, an in-depth study,
especially with regard to gender relations in sports practices. Therefore, the present
study aimed to analyze the sport of futsal in Physical Education classes with a focus
on gender relations and issues. As methodological procedures, in addition to
bibliographic research, questionnaires were applied on the subject for Physical
Education teachers. The results obtained indicate the existence of discrimination and
gender inequality in futsal sports practice. Despite historical achievements with
regard to women's rights, in their practical experience there is still much to be
achieved. And there is no doubt that this work of fighting against prejudice can and
should be carried out within school institutions, with Physical Education teachers
having a fundamental role in their teaching practice.
