Abstract:
The present research has as general objective to carry out an analysis of Law no.
11.340 / 2006 (Lei Maria da Penha), demonstrating the need to implement public
policies. The work was carried out using bibliographic research, through scientific
articles, magazines and doctrines. So it can be concluded that the Maria da Penha
Law alone as a merely normative protection has not been sufficient in combating and
coping with domestic and family violence, in view of its ineffectiveness. Finally, it
concluded that for the law to become effective, it is necessary to implement public
policies aimed at guaranteeing the human rights of women.
