Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the joint custody of the institute, its positive and negative factors, and its relevance in the lives of children. It is essential to point out that joint custody should be seen not only as minor possession but as a set of responsibilities divided between parents to meet the needs of children and not modify the social relations among them. This method aims to guard the principle of equality between spouses sharing everyday responsibilities in their children's lives. The reason for undertaking the present study was the difficulty that parents have to understand what purpose it is this institute because the misapplication of shared custody may reflect the child's personality, requiring an analysis of the case so that the advantages are observed this guard option would receive that. Once the damage caused by this type of custody is the lack of reference, one of the striking features in Brazilian homes, the problems and needs of shared custody institutes will be analyzed in order to point out the ways to enable the solutions to the problems encountered in this type of guard.
