Abstract:
This study is the result of a Pedagogy course conclusion work by the Faculty of Inhumas - FacMais. It is a bibliographical review that brings as main theorists studied: Almeida (1995), Brazil (2018), Maluf (2012), Teixeira (2018), Vygotsky (1991), Vasconcellos (2005). The research focuses on contextualizing the importance of games in Early Childhood Education. The research is organized into three chapters. Starting from the historical context of games, and Early Childhood Education, in the second chapter, bringing the games with the age groups and their suitability for each age, explaining why the games develop in children while they play, finally exposing the importance of the teacher's role in Early Childhood Education, what are the needs of continuing education to exercise their role with professionalism, competence and a broad view of reality, highlighting the value of personal and professional development. Therefore, the research based on the reading of the authors' works concluded that Education is essential in the formation of an individual, providing an adequate and diversified environment, enriching with knowledge and encouraging playfulness, making him/her a citizen of good, conscious and aware of their rights.
