Abstract:
Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 (DM1) is a chronic disease and if left untreated it can cause complications and even death. The nurse plays an important role in sensitization by providing information on the importance of aspects that influence glycemic control in order to obtain an improvement in the quality of life of the patient. The relevance of this study should be considered from the moment in which it is observed great difficulty in adapting to the proposed treatment and the maintenance of glycemic control both by the DM1 carrier, as well as by their relatives and also by the fact that the nurse plays an indispensable role in adhesion Change in lifestyle. For that, a review of the literature was made, through a bibliographic survey in electronic material. The importance of the role of the nurse in the dissemination of information concerning the pathology to join the proposed treatment is shown, considering that the aspects that influence the glycemic control of the DM1 carrier are: insulin therapy, diet therapy And physical activities and are directly interconnected in the effectiveness of treatment.
