Abstract

This research is a revision with elements of an integrative narrative, with the objective of verifying the existence of publication in the BVS and PubMed databases in the years 2005 to 2015 on nurses' knowledge about protocols involving work accidents with biological material, and the impact on public health due to the problems involved in these services, but no publication was found that clearly shows the real impact of these accidents with biological material on public health. The results obtained contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the area of Occupational Health and motivates the realization of new researches.
