Abstract:
The incidence of dengue cases has increased considerably worldwide. According to data from the Ministry of Health, in Brazil, the spread of the dengue virus increased significantly in 2022, with an incidence of 855,910 cases. Dengue is a rapidly spreading and endemic viral disease. Therefore, the purpose of the research was to analyze the profile of the disease and raise the main advances in management and treatment. To this end, the integrative literature review method was used, without language restriction, on sites such as PubMed, Scielo, Datasus, among others. It was concluded that there is still no consensus for the clinical management of dengue. The protocol currently used refers only to the symptoms caused by the virus. It was also noted that there is already a vaccine available in Brazil and another 5 in development. Therefore, the best method to contain the disease is still the preventive and vector containment methods.
