Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has represented a global public health problem, with social
distancing and isolation as a major preventive measure, which has caused rapid
changes in the job market. The primary objective of the article is to understand the
negative effects on the informal labor market produced by the pandemic and the
government's actions to mitigate them. Having as main problem the impacts of the
pandemic on the Brazilian job market and what can be done by the government to
soften the consequences. The methodology used in this article was based on a
literature review and analysis of data provided by geographic and statistical
information providers in Brazil. The theoretical references that will give clues to the
theme will be built based on the readings of: Krein(2010), Proni (2010), Targino
(2015), Vasconcelos (2015) and Antunes (2009). Through this article it was possible
to conclude that public health measures had a negative financial impact on the livesof families, companies and the government, and among the various governmental
measures adopted in order to mitigate this scenario, one of the most resolute is
carried out through the application of resources in health and in the sectors
responsible for the population's quality of life, as it will boost the economy with the
generation of formal jobs.
