Abstract:
The present monograph has as its theme the history of Brazilian education in the
teaching-learning process, with emphasis on the challenges and educational
potentials in the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. It aims to reflect on education in
Brazil, from Jesuit education to the present day of the year 2022, with regard to the
role of the state and regulatory bodies regarding the quality of education offered to
students. As specific objectives, to analyze how the remote teaching proposal is
completely innovative and was put into practice on an emergency basis; which
generated negative effects related to student learning. The research problem deals
with the lack of basic resources for quality remote classes, in view of the focus on the
integral development of students. It is, therefore, a new paradigm on the rise and
which should evolve towards solutions to recover the setbacks caused in student
education as a result of the closure of schools during the pandemic period. Working
at school on the return to face-to-face classes, with a view to improving student
learning, is not an impossible mission for teachers, but a challenge. Therefore, it is
seen that it is necessary to use active methodologies to, in fact, solve the negative
effects on the students' teaching-learning process, seeking to minimize the
educational delays in Brazilian education, mainly aggravated by the pandemic.
