Abstract:
The present study aims to understand how nursing professionals provide
assistance to pregnant adolescents in depressive conditions. Teenage
pregnancy causes numerous and profound changes in the lives of young
people, including risks for both the mother and the fetus. In this sense,
adolescents are susceptible to gestational depression. From this perspective,
this research questions how nursing care can bring benefits and reduce risks to
young pregnant women in situations of emotional vulnerability. An integrative
review was adopted in this study, between August and October 2022, when a
bibliographic search was carried out through the PubMed, SciELO and VHL
platforms, published in the years 2017 to 2022. Young people who face this type
of situation often have compromised psychological health and become
vulnerable to suicide. Therefore, it is inferred that it is pertinent for the nurse to
accompany these adolescents, thus ensuring adequate care and quality
prenatal care. In this way, the risk of pregnant women with depression will be
reduced.
