Abstract:
The present work is developed as a bibliographical and documental research that aims to have as its theme the literature in early childhood education as an alternative for the formation of critical and reflective readers. Often, when literature is mentioned, it is soon associated as a tool to assist in reading, writing to apprehend content or as a way of teaching moral codes. This work intends to reflect on how children's literature has been worked at school. The general objective of the research is to understand how literature mediated in early childhood education can contribute to the process of training readers. The specific objectives are to highlight children's literature and human development; analyze a literary book, reflecting and raising possibilities for the formation of readers; reflect on the importance of teaching literature for the development of children in early childhood education. The problem question that guides this research is: how can children's literature in the early years of early childhood education contribute to the formation of readers?
The first chapter discusses, based on the contributions of Candido (1972-2004), the functions of literature in the formation of human beings; with Lajolo (1993) reinforces the importance of literature in the formation of readers in school. Chapter two presents a reading of the PNLD document in order to understand the mechanisms of choice of literary books for early childhood education and with these criteria, a work was chosen to be analyzed, the book The path of your wolf does not come Guimarães (2020) . The third chapter discusses from Perrotti (1986) and Coelho (2000) the utilitarianism and moralization of children's literature and how it defines it as the art of the word. Through the analysis of the chosen Literary book we will present some possibilities of using the book in the classroom mediation from these concepts.
