Abstract:
The purpose of this article is to present the psychological damage caused by the
pandemic, due to the coronavirus, SARS - CoV - 19, in high school students. In this
sense, the study identifies and analyzes the traumatic impacts, under the conception
of Gestalt-therapy, in order to understand this phenomenon of illness. For this, the
text highlights the damage faced and experienced daily by adolescents; as well as
the countless situations, emotions, sensations and feelings that triggered many
psychic sufferings and influenced the illness and consequently mental health. Social
isolation, physical distancing, fear of death, uncertainties, drastic changes in lifestyle,
separation from family and friends, school distancing, are contributing factors for
such injuries.
