Abstract:
This article presents reflections on some questions between health and illness, being
understood through a dialogue between psychosomatics and Gestalt therapy. For
this, the text highlights the contribution of the approach to understanding mental
illness through psychosomatics. From a methodological point of view, this is an
exploratory bibliographical review through several researches and readings on the
subject, using specialized sites, such as: Google Scholar, SciELO and others. Among the main authors consulted, the text highlights: Perls, Goodman and Hefferline (1998),
Barbosa (2016), Mello Filho and Burd (2010), Silva (2016), Ferreira (2021), Marras
(2020), among others. The article presents the Gestalt-therapy approach with its
bases and some of its theories such as the organismic theory, holistic theory, also on
homeostasis and contact, among others. It was observed, through the research, a
differentiated understanding about the illness process through psychosomatics; thus
leading to a contribution of this approach to a better understanding of mental illness
through a dialogue with psychosomatics.
