Abstract:
Introduction: pharmaceutical care is a fundamental practice in the routine of
pharmacists professionals, which can help to help patients, as the clinical
pharmacist works in directc patient care, adopting actions for the rational use of medicines, optimizing pharmacotherapy and promoting health education. Objective:
to analyze and understand the practice of pharmaceutical care combined with the
performance of the clinical pharmacist and its main challenges. Methodology: this is
an integrative literature review study, whose results are obtained from the collection
of data from the selected bibliographic reference. The selection of two articles was
obtained through virtual search tools (Pubmed, SciELO, Google Scholar), in which
twenty articles published between 2016 and 2022, in English and Portuguese, were
found. Results and discussion: twenty articles were found en the search platforms,
eleven of thrm werw included in the study because they encompass the selected
theme, however the remaining articles did not address the theme and were excluded.
the selected articles demonstrated relevant importance in relatin to clinical pharmacy
services in hospitals, pediatric care and adult care, whether in the private or public
network. Final considerations: from the analysis of the two data presented, I
observed that the categories of reported difficulties are mainly related to clinical
training, more specifically to the lack or development of clinical skills. An educational
reform is necessary to initiate a change in culture and consolidate clinical practice in
a way that is accessible to all and value the pharmaceutical professional.
