Abstract:
This article addresses the significant impact of family interaction on the development
of anxiety in adolescence, a relevant topic given the prevalence of anxiety disorders
in Brazil, as pointed out by the World Health Organization. The study uses a
bibliographic research methodology, including searches in Google Scholar and
literature review of renowned authors in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Psychology.
The main objective of the paper is to understand the role that anxiety plays in the
lives of adolescents, the influence of the family environment, and possible ways to
mitigate its detrimental effects. The study emphasizes the importance of family as an
essential anchor for the healthy development of the individual, especially during
identity and personality formation. The study's findings highlight that anxiety, while a
real and enduring illness, can be controlled and prevented from becoming a
debilitating force in an individual's life. Furthermore, it highlights the vital role that the
family can play in this process by providing emotional support, structure, and
guidance needed to cope with this challenge.
