Abstract:
Education of the Deaf Person: pedagogical and structural processes of insertion in
Higher Education is the result of a research work carried out in the Graduate
Program in Education, Academic Master's Degree, at Faculdade de Inhumas –
FacMais. The line of research is Education, Culture and Pedagogical Processes,
whose assumptions prioritize studies of knowledge, culture and practices that
configure the institutional dynamics of educational actions. The objective of this
investigation is to understand the process of insertion of the deaf person in higher
education in the state of Goiás, highlighting the academic and pedagogical support
for the construction of knowledge in the course. Specifically, the objective is: to
compose an interpretation regarding inclusive education and its importance in
contemporary society, focusing on Higher Education; highlight the legislation
regarding the access of deaf people to higher education: identify institutional actions
of academic and pedagogical support for the inclusion of deaf people in higher
education. This is a qualitative, bibliographical and documental investigation, which
starts from the following problematizing question: what elements are representative
of the processes of insertion of the deaf person in higher education and are declared
in the legislation and documentation of universities? The methodological procedure
prioritized the theoretical study of authors in the area who research on the subject; a
narrative literature review with the intention of contextualizing the object of study;
research in guiding documents of pedagogical actions in two institutions of Higher
Education in the state of Goiás, one federal and one state, with the intention of
identifying what they bring in relation to the insertion of the deaf person in higher
education courses. For the analysis of the collected data, we opted for content
analysis based on Bardin (2016). As a theoretical reference, guidance was sought
from authors such as: Mantoan (2003), Mittler (2003) who talk about inclusion in
general; Skliar (1998), Strobel (2008) exclusively address the inclusion of the deaf
person and to discuss higher education we have Gatti (2014). The results point to the
development of better strategies and public policies for the inclusion of this group of
people in higher education, since, according to the research carried out, there is still
a lack of greater intervention by the public power so that this group of society has a
quality teaching and respecting all the rights guaranteed in the Federal Constitution
of 1988.
