Abstract:
Introduction: Adolescence is the period of development in which the definitive
construction of the individual occurs, being more susceptible to vulnerability related
to risks that may arise in the face of transformations and changes. (Saito et al.,
2016). With the onset of adolescents’ early sexual life, they are at risk of unwanted
pregnancy, contamination by sexually transmitted diseases, caused by the lack of
information about such diseases and lack of access to contraceptive methods. Objective: This research aims to study the implications caused by early pregnancy
and public health actions as a prevention factor. Method: The present study is a
bibliographical research through analysis of articles published in SciELO, in the
Nursing magazine, in the Unifaema repository, among others, in addition to
documentary research in the Secretariat of Social Development of São Paulo and at
the “Cartilha Direitos sexuais, direitos reprodutivos e métodos anticoncepcionais”, by
the Ministry of Health. Results and discussion: According to the studies carried out,
public health actions that promote information and awareness about the
responsibilities and risks of early pregnancy are of utmost importance. Despite
existing programs, the number of pregnant teenagers is still very high. In this context,
nurses are fundamental professionals in the prevention of early pregnancy, by
providing individual care, family planning and health education. Final
considerations: Therefore, if these adolescents are guided and supported by
nurses, family, and a multidisciplinary team, they prepare for the future and
experience this age in a more responsible and healthy way.
