Abstract:
Due to the great growth in the use of botulinum toxin in the dental scenario, the
main objective of this work was to carry out a literature review on the application of
botulinum toxin in the upper third of the face, to describe a clinical case. The
research bases were: PubMed, Scielo, Google Scholar, Cora Coralina Digital
Library, at FACMAIS – Faculdade de Inhumas. The clinical case was carried out in
a dental environment by a qualified professional, the patient's main complaint was
dynamic wrinkles, the use of botulinum toxin was proposed, where excellent
results were obtained, concluding that, if the treatment is carried out correctly,
there is a significant improvement in quality of life, an evolution in psychological
health caused by the improvement of patients' self-esteem and the objectives are achieved when the professional is qualified associated with the patient's
collaboration.
