Abstract:
Financial Education can be defined as knowledge about investments, numerical
understanding and understanding of concepts such as taxation, interest, inflation and
investment diversification. The main objective of this work was to analyze Financial
Education as an important tool for good personal planning and debt control, which
affects the quality of life of Brazilians in different ways. It was carried out through
qualitative and quantitative research in FacMais' physical and online libraries, and
also in scientific texts found on Google Scholar and/or scientific journals in the area. The Brazilian Debt Profile and Behavior survey, carried out by Serasa in September
2022, served as our main source of information and was compared with data from
the same survey also carried out by Serasa in October 2023. Through it it was
possible to identify the causes and possible solutions for good personal and family
financial planning and for reducing debt, enabling Brazilians to have a better quality
of life.
