Abstract:
Throughout this paper, the essential role of the State in preventing secondary
victimization was emphasized, highlighting the importance of measures ensuring the
protection of victims, confidentiality of information, and equitable access to justice.
The restorative justice approach was introduced as a promising alternative,
prioritizing damage repair and reconciliation in contrast to traditional punitive
approaches. The adopted methodology involved a literature review, enabling a critical
analysis and synthesis of existing knowledge on the subject. The study concluded
that secondary victimization reflects not only individual issues but also systemic
failures requiring a comprehensive response. The crucial role of the State in creating an environment that promotes justice, respect, and victim protection was
underscored.
