Abstract:
Virtual rape of vulnerable people refers to a form of sexual violence that occurs
online, often directed at vulnerable individuals, such as children, adolescents and
adults in vulnerable situations. This form of abuse involves the coercion, harassment,
exploitation or sexual intimidation of a person through the internet or social media.
This phenomenon is an extension of traditional rape and is facilitated by digital
technology, including the exchange of non-consensual explicit images, blackmail, the
dissemination of sexually explicit content without permission, and the use of the
internet to stalk or harass victims. Victims often suffer severe psychological trauma,
resulting in anxiety, depression and self-esteem issues. The fight against virtual rape
involves raising awareness, educating about online safety, implementing laws and regulations to punish perpetrators, and creating support resources for victims. This is
a complex problem that requires the collaboration of governments, civil society
organizations, mental health professionals and technology experts to prevent and
combat this form of digital violence.
