Abstract:
Abstract: This study discusses restorative techniques for darkened anterior teeth, with
an emphasis on the use of dental veneers to restore esthetics. Objectives: To
evaluate and compare treatment options, such as composite resin and ceramic
veneers, and to discuss the causes of tooth darkening and the advantages and
disadvantages of each restorative technique. Methodology: A qualitative literature
review was carried out on databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed and SciELO,
including publications from 2015 to 2024, focusing on procedures to solve tooth
darkening. Results: The analysis showed that tooth whitening is a conservative
alternative for initial cases, while composite resin veneers offer a quick and affordable
solution, with easy repair in cases of damage. Ceramic veneers, on the other hand, provide greater durability and color stability, with a high cost-benefit ratio for long-term
aesthetic treatments. Final considerations: It can be concluded that the ideal
treatment depends on the characteristics of the darkening and the needs of each
patient, with the restorative technique chosen being decisive for a satisfactory and
lasting result, requiring specific skills in dental aesthetics from the professional.
