Abstract:
Obstetric violence (VO) is a set of inhuman actions occurring during the gestational period, labor and puerperium, characterized by excessive medicalization and pathologization of natural processes, with the imposition of harmful interventions on physical and psychological integrity. Objective: To classify the most frequent obstetric violence during the puerperal pregnancy period. It is specific to point out factors that hinder the humanization of childbirth in health services and how the nurse implements humanization. Methodology: This is an integrative review of the literature, by means of a bibliographic survey of electronic material in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) databases, especially in the databases: LILACS, BDEnf, MEDLINE and SCIELO. In search of articles from 2008 to 2018. Results: We verified that 60.87% of the articles selected described the types of violence that occur most during the entire gestational period, including neglect and sexual violence; and 39.13%, of the articles referred to the factors that contribute to the lack of humanization in health services and the methods used by nurses to implement humanization, in this context we have successively obtained the lack of professional knowledge and permanent education. It is concluded that One of the ways to implement humanization during health care is through continuing education through courses, trainings, lectures, and thus changes in routine practices and updates in relation to these practices that are in disuse, the nurse is the precursor of humanization and should work together with health professionals to introduce new goals and strategies to thus a more humanized care
