Abstract:
The present study seeks to contribute to reflection and understanding about the
experience of grief after the loss of a spouse, based on a historical review of death and
its aspects within Western culture, and delving deeper into the theory of psychiatrist
Carl Gustav Jung the in order to bring reflections within analytical psychology on
experience, elaboration and individuation. In addition to understanding the contribution
of psychology in exploring loss and emphasizing the importance of the therapeutic
process in the lives of those who experience this moment.
