Abstract:
This article discusses the abusive practice of offering payroll loans to retirees in
Brazil, analyzing its implications in light of the General Data Protection Law
(LGPD). The financial exploitation of this vulnerable population occurs through the
improper use of personal data, often collected without due consent or in an
abusive manner, resulting in a violation of the principles of privacy and data
protection guaranteed by the LGPD. The study seeks to highlight the impact on
the lives of retirees, the responsibility of financial institutions, and the importance
of compliance with data protection legislation to protect the rights of retirees.
