Abstract:
Dance in school education promotes affection, expressiveness and socialization for students. This work sought to understand the importance of Dance for the affective and social development of educating in school and the role of physical education teacher in the orientation and mediation of this activity. This is a qualitative research, through a bibliographic study with virtual researches and referential works of the area, making up the theoretical basis of this work. Talk about the history of dance, brought from our ancestors through teachers and dancers researchers, and how it manifests itself in schools, made it possible to present forms of dance teaching in the initial elementary school series in physical education classes. The importance of dance in the child’s life and the teaching methodologies of this theme were presented in the current reality of Brazilian schools. How the licensed teacher can develop the dance in the initial series of elementary school, covering the contents proposed in the field of dance and the spaces that the school offers, aiming at the learning and development of educating. As an important element of the body’s culture of movement, the Dance must be stimulated and taught in the educational environment. According to the new Common National Base curriculum, the dance should happen as a form of educating understand the pedagogical proposal mediated by the teacher through attractive and well planned contents. Establishing good moments in classes, projects, festivals according to the reality of the school lived, make the dance is not neglected and yes, be an inspiration to the affective and social development of students and students in physical education classes.
