Abstract:
This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of dengue vaccination in the state of Goiás,
considering the public situation, the impacts that the virus had on confirmed cases, and the
effective vaccination coverage in the age groups prioritized by the Unified Health System
(SUS. This is an integrative review of the literature, based on publications from journals such
as Pubmed and Scielo, articles available on Google Scholar, and official bulletins from the
Public Ministry from 2020-2025, selecting articles with information relevant to the topic
addressed. The results and discussions indicate that between 2021-2025, the state of Goiás
presented data with high case incidences, with constant peaks during rainy periods, andshowed a reduction in cases with the start of the Qdenga and Dengvaxia vaccines and the
implementation of methods from the Action Plan to reduce the impacts of arboviruses. Despite
significant advances, vaccination coverage remains insufficient to ensure collective
immunization of the entire population, affected by factors such as misinformation and low
population adherence. It is concluded that strengthening educational actions, epidemiological
surveillance, and environmental control associated with expanding vaccination is extremely
essential for reducing mortality and ensuring sustainable control of dengue cases in the state
of Goiás.
