Abstract:
Hemophilia is a genetic and bleeding disorder that impairs the blood clotting process,
requiring continuous and specific care. Given the complexity of treatment and the risk of
complications, nursing care plays a crucial role in the follow-up of hemophiliac patients.
This study, through an integrative literature review (2015 to 2022), aimed to analyze
nursing care for patients with hemophilia and its importance in preventing complications,
and in detail, to identify the main complications of hemophilia and their impact on patient
health, as well as to evaluate the role of nursing in the prevention, diagnosis, and
treatment of bleeding events, focusing on highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary
follow-up. It concludes that the nursing function, in particular, involves guiding both thepatient and their caregivers regarding the disease and its treatment, monitoring the
effectiveness of the techniques used, clarifying doubts, minimizing harm, with a view to
achieving the patient's quality of life, thus being a reference professional for hemophiliacs
and therefore essential for humanized care
