Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: To analyze epidemiological data on gestational syphilis in the micro-region of
Ituiutaba-MG between 2019 and 2024, highlighting the importance of control by nursing
professionals and increasing the academic visibility of the Nursing course. METHODOLOGY:
This is a cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical study with a quantitative approach, using
population data from the micro-region composed of nine municipalities and estimated at
174,751 inhabitants (IBGE, 2024). Data collection will be carried out through the DATASUS
portal, using tools such as TABNET and information from the Notifiable Diseases Information
System (SINAN), enabling the analysis of tables, graphs, and spatial visualization of data
between January 2019 and December 2024. RESULTS: The evaluation of case registration
patterns, carried out using epidemiological information extracted from SINAN and compiled onthe DATASUS platform, made it possible to observe the behavior of notifications over the
period from 2018 to 2021, with 178 cases described during this period. CONCLUSION:
Addressing gestational syphilis requires systematic testing and adequate treatment of
pregnant women and their partners. In addition, investments in educational campaigns that
promote early detection and prevent vertical transmission are of utmost importance. In
addition, investments in educational campaigns that promote early detection and prevent
vertical transmission are of paramount importance. Thus, only with an integrated and
continuous approach will it be possible to reduce the number of cases and ensure a safer
pregnancy for women throughout the micro-region.
