REABILITAÇÃO ORAL EM PACIENTES JOVENS

Abstract

This paper is justified by the importance of reporting and analyzing the clinical process of a real case of oral health restoration and rehabilitation with RPD (removable partial denture) in a 29-year-old patient treated at the Clinic of Faculdade Mais de Ituiutaba, highlighting the treatment stages and challenges encountered. The general objective is to report and analyze the complete clinical process of oral rehabilitation of a young patient (29 years old) with tooth loss, treated in an interdisciplinary manner at the Integrated Dentistry Clinic of Faculdade Mais de Ituiutaba, focusing on the restoration of health and function using a Removable Partial Denture (RPD). Oral rehabilitation in this age group goes beyond the functional aspect, also involving psychosocial factors. The most significant outcome was the profound improvement in the quality of life reported by the patient. After the treatment, there was improvement in both the functional and facial aesthetic aspects, as well as in the social aspect. This included performing simple daily activities, such as smiling in front of another person, being able to express oneself without premature judgments about one's appearance, and improved self-confidence when conversing with people. In summary, the treatment performed at the Teaching Clinic not only resolved the patient's clinical emergencies (pain and infection), but also served as an agent of social inclusion and rehabilitation of dignity, reinforcing the essential role of Dentistry as a promoter of health and general well-being.
