Abstract:
Beef cattle farming is very important to Brazil's economy, placing the country among
the world's largest producers and exporters of beef. However, this production faces
problems with infectious, parasitic, and nutritional diseases that affect both
productivity and animal welfare. The goal of this study is to review the main strategies
for preventing and controlling diseases in beef cattle, focusing on vaccination,
sanitary management, and biosecurity. Scientific publications from 2000 to 2025
were analyzed. The results show that continuous vaccination, combined with good
management practices and biosecurity, is fundamental to herd health. These
measures reduce economic losses, increase productivity, and ensure meat quality.
Thus, the combination of immunization and sanitary management is vital for the
sustainability of livestock farming in Brazil.
