PERFIL SOCIODEMOGRÁFICO DE TRAVESTIS E MULHERES TRANSEXUAIS HIV POSITIVO NO BRASIL E NO MUNDO: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Abstract

The lack of information and guidance makes transgender and transvestite women a population at risk for HIV. Objective: to describe the profile of transsexual and transvestite women living with HIV / AIDS in Brazil. The stigma in relation to trans women and transvestites makes them susceptible to violence, school dropout, social exclusion, which can trigger HIV / AIDS risk behavior. As it is an integrative review, the search for literature was carried out in the databases of Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Eletronic Libray Online (SciELO) Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System online (MEDLINE ), in addition to being based on the main theoretical references, such as KULICK, PELÚCIO, BARAL, POTEAT, UNAIDS, the search resulted in 24 selected articles. It was concluded that a profile of black trans and transvestite women, with low educational level, alcohol and / or drug users and sex workers are more vulnerable to HIV / AIDS
