Abstract:
The theme of the research in question is on the irrational use of medicines. The
objective is to evaluate this use and its consequences, as well as the ease that
one has today to have access to them without proper medical prescription. The
problem chosen and researched was to understand the indiscriminate use of
medications without proper prescription and non-observance and user
awareness regarding self-medication. The applied methodology was carried
out, through consultations with the collection of the virtual health library (VHL),
in the databases Literatura Latino-Americano and Scientific Eletrônica Online
(SCIELO) Brazil. The theoretical references that will give clues to the theme will
be constructed based on the readings of: Bueno, Costa, Carvalho, Henriques
and Chaves. The main conclusion is the importance of pharmaceutical care in
this sense.
