Abstract:
Cracks and fissures are visible pathological manifestations that usually appear on the walls of buildings, which can harm the structure of the same. One of the possible causes of these manifestations could be the repression of the foundation. Foundations are very important structural elements for the building. In addition to supporting the structure, it is also responsible for transmitting loads from the structure to the ground. Therefore, this work seeks to explain how these pathological manifestations arise, as well as possible solutions for them. For this, visits were made to the renovation and expansion work of the city hall of Inhumas-GO, where some photos of pathological manifestations were taken, to carry out an analysis indicating them, and to identify the cause that generated each manifestation, as well as possible fixes.
