Abstract:
The subject of this research is the increase in domestic violence in the Covid-19
pandemic. The work aims to analyze the increase in cases of domestic violence
during the pandemic period, considering that one of the non-pharmacological
measures to contain the virus is social isolation, which makes the victim spend more
time with his aggressor . To carry out this monograph, bibliographies available in the
FacMais Library were analyzed, as well as scientific texts from the internet and
analysis of judgments, being developed by quantitative research. In order to reach
the conclusion of the research, research on patriarchy was necessary, deepening the
theme of domestic violence with data and statistics on the incidence of cases in
Brazil, researching and understanding what the Covid-19 pandemic is and seeking
factors that could increase the incidence of cases and reduce the demand for
complaints and the search for protection for victims of domestic violence. Domestic
violence against women is a social problem, in which they are victims of aggression,
abuse, embarrassment, subversion and sexism. In Brazil the cases are of great
incidence. Every two minutes a woman is attacked, even though it is a country where
the law for the protection of women is in force, protection measures for victims,
possibilities for the abuse to be reported. Covid-19 is a highly transmissible virus,
more than 607,000 Brazilians have become statistics. Due to the high transmissibility
of Coronavirus, social isolation was necessary, at which time it was necessary to
adhere to work in the home office mode. Schools, churches, bars closed, companies
suspended work contracts, people were instructed to stay at home, and other
measures were also adopted. As a result of social distancing, victims spent most of
their time in their homes, being in most cases the place where they suffer the most
aggression.
