Abstract:
Introduction. In 2019, towards the end of the year, a virus was discovered that started an outbreak of infections in Wuhan, China. Called SARS-CoV-2, the highly infectious virus quickly spread around the world, causing one of the biggest pandemics in human history. Efforts to combat it were intense and the development of the vaccine saved thousands of lives, proving to be extremely important. Objective. The present work aims to study and analyzed the Pfizer vaccine, highlighting the technology used, its manufacture and its principle of action and effectiveness to prevent COVID-19. Methodology. We realized an integrative literature review, by using the LILACS, Scielo and PubMed databases to select the articles with pertinent information on the topic addressed. Result and Discussion. The development and efficacy of the Pfizer vaccine were evaluated, demonstrating its mechanism of action. We emphasized the importance of nanotechnology in combating various diseases, in particular its use in the development of vaccines, such as the vaccine produced by Pfizer. Final considerations. The benefits of this vaccine in combating COVID-19 were evident. More studies should be carried out for the use of nanotechnology in the treatment of different diseases, including nanonovacin, since these systems represent an important advance in the effectiveness of vaccines.
