Abstract:
The assistance of the obstetrical nurse provides women with security and comfort, making the professional a great incentive to encourage and support the participation of women during the process of childbirth and birth. The objective of this work is to verify and reflect on the assistance of obstetric nursing professionals in humanized delivery, in the context of humanization. The methodology is an integrative review, with a qualitative approach, which aims to answer the guiding question: What is the importance of the obstetric nurse in the assistance to humanized childbirth? For this, a search for evidence was carried out, between 2015 and 2020, in the LILACS and BDENF databases, considering the inclusion criteria, as original articles in Portuguese, and exclusion, such as letters to the reader; replicas and duplicates; public notices; opinions; comments and documents that did not contemplate the objective proposed by the study. It is concluded, therefore, that for qualified assistance, the qualification and training of the professionals involved in labor is extremely important. Obstetric nurses must promote safe care and prioritize the woman's moment, recognizing the pregnant woman's choices, based on scientific evidence.
