Abstract:
Financial education for children forms financially aware adults. Since a country's Human Development Index (HDI) is higher when there are guidelines on finance for children, it is intended that information on how to use money is the tool used for the prosperity of the next generation in the country. The methodology used for the construction of this work was based on updated bibliographic references in the area, and mainly from the book: Finança é Coisa de Criança by Ana Pregardier. This and other references show that children learn in a playful way and come to understand what is commonplace in adult life, such as comparing prices, taking care of the household budget, evaluating interest on installment purchases, using credit cards, developing awareness environment and obtain habits and customs avoiding waste so that they become conscientious citizens. It is concluded that an adult with a healthy financial life can be the result of a child who received guidance at school and through the family, with methodology applied to the appropriate age group in elementary school.
