Abstract:
Beef cattle herds have increased significantly in the Brazilian scenario. Artificial
Insemination has been a reality in Brazil since the mid-1930s, and has been standing
out as a choice when it comes to reproduction. When Artificial Insemination is
combined with the synchronization of heat, it becomes possible to control and
harmonize the sexual cycles of females. This is practiced mainly in dairy cattle herds.
This technique facilitates artificial insemination, freeing itself from constraints linked
to the detection of heat and movement. Based on this reality, the objective of this
work is to highlight the importance of Fixed-Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) to increase pregnancy rates, bringing a significant economic impact to the producer. For
the development, a bibliographic review on the subject was carried out, and the
results show that these protocols are and will still be widely used in the Brazilian beef
cattle scene as a way to accelerate herd growth and the country's economic
development.
