Abstract:
The State has the duty to guarantee security, education, health and also quality food
to each individual. However, given the situation experienced by Brazilians, it should
be noted that there is still a large part of the population experiencing food needs.
Therefore, this work aims to investigate this situation of food insecurity, examining
some existing public food policies in Brazil. It is necessary to reflect on the reason
why thousands of people face the problem of hunger, a constitutionally guaranteed
right provided for in public policies. The research will follow the deductive method
and will be based on bibliographical and documentary research. Data, documents,
bibliographies and articles based on scientific publications on the right to food and
public policies will be analyzed. The solution to this problem is to reduce the existing
social inequality and demand effective public policies from government officials in
order to increasingly reduce the problem of food insecurity experienced today.
