Abstract:
The present monographic work has as objective the current state of the Brazilian penitentiary system and, in particular, the Goian penitentiary system in light of the objective of the resocialization of the distressed. Initially, an incursion was made in matters related to the pen, addressing its generalities and the theories that are related to it. The legal objectivity of punishment has also been addressed, especially with regard to existing prevention modalities. An analysis was also made of penitentiary systems, with special attention to the pennilanic system, the Auburnian system and progressive systems. The theme of resocialization was carefully considered, when its conceptual contours and the propositions formulated by the doctrinaires in this respect were explored. Then, the subjects related directly to the practice of execution of the sentence in Brazil were discussed, developing the evaluation regarding the conditions of the Brazilian and Goian prison system. It took care of inserting statistical information capable of formulating a precise panorama on the prison situation in the state. The meeting of the subjects discussed allowed us to conclude on the fulfillment of the resuscitizing objective of the sentence in Brazil and in Goiás.
