dc.description.abstract	The aim of this study was to discuss the challenges faced by nursing in caring for women who are victims of sexual violence. It was based on the assumption that care for women who suffer this type of violence should be based on welcoming, corroborating with technical care. Understanding violence as an act that subjugates women and places them in a situation of psycho-emotional vulnerability due to the physical, psychological and emotional scars, as well as being a public health problem, nursing interventions should also focus on restoring the dignity of these victims. The aim of this study was therefore to describe violence against women, address the physical and psychological consequences and identify the reasons that lead women to remain in a violent relationship, in order to characterize the challenges facing nursing in the face of these occurrences. The methodology used was bibliographical research, defining this article as a review based on the theoretical survey carried out. Among the main challenges for nursing practice are ethical and legal issues, the diagnosis of violence and the apparent lack of preparation of professionals for qualified care.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	O objetivo deste estudo foi discutir os desafios da Enfermagem no cuidado à mulher vítima de violência sexual. Partiu-se do pressuposto de que o atendimento à mulher que sofre esse tipo de violência deve ser orientado com base no acolhimento corroborando com o atendimento técnico. Entendendo a violência como um ato que subjuga a mulher e a coloca em situação de vulnerabilidade psicoemocional em face das marcas físicas, psicológicas e emocionais, além de se tratar de um problema de saúde pública, as intervenções de Enfermagem devem ter como foco, também, o resgate da dignidade dessa vítima. Portanto, buscou-se com o estudo descrever a violência contra a mulher, abordar as consequências físicas e psicológicas e identificar os motivos que levam a mulher a permanecer numa relação violenta, de modo a caracterizar os desafios da Enfermagem diante destas ocorrências. A metodologia usada foi a pesquisa bibliográfica, definindo este artigo como de revisão construído com base no levantamento teórico realizado. Dentre os principais desafios para a prática do Enfermeiro, tem-se as questões éticas e legais, o diagnóstico da violência e o aparente despreparo dos profissionais para um atendimento qualificado.	pt_BR
