dc.description.abstract	Palliative care is assistance provided to patients who have no possibility of cure, aiming at receiving and comforting the patient and their family members. In this aspect, the objective of this work was to describe the role of nurses in palliative care with regard to the humanization of cancer patients. The work methodology was an integrative literature review, using the descriptors “Cancer”, “Nursing”, “Care”, in the LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) databases. Articles published between 2009 and 2019, available in full, in Portuguese, were considered. Regarding the results, after careful selection, only five articles composed this integrative review, all of which are based on SciELO. It is observed through the studies researched that the nurse’s performance in palliative care in a more humanized way results in greater survival of patients compared to others who do not receive such care.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	Cuidados paliativos são cuidados assistenciais prestados a pacientes que não possuem possibilidade de cura, visando ao acolhimento e ao conforto ao paciente e a seus familiares. o objetivo do nosso estudo foi trazer apontamentos que permitam melhorar o entendimento do papel do enfermeiro no processo de acolhimento e humanização em cuidados paliativos oncológicos. A metodologia do trabalho tratou-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, utilizando os descritores “Câncer”, “Enfermagem”, “Cuidado”, nas bases de dados LILACS (Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde) e Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO). Foram considerados artigos publicados entre 2009 e 2019, disponíveis na íntegra, no idioma português. Em relação aos resultados, após seleção criteriosa, apenas cinco artigos compuseram essa revisão integrativa, sendo todos eles na base da SciELO. Observou se, através dos estudos pesquisados, que a atuação do enfermeiro em cuidados paliativos de forma mais humanizada resulta numa sobrevida maior dos pacientes em vista de outros que não recebem tal cuidado.	pt_BR
